Soronko Care Services (SCS) is committed to delivering high-quality programs and services to our clients, supported by competent and dedicated staff. We are currently seeking Support Workers with strong communication and interpersonal skills, who are highly committed and focused on client care.

Job Description

Support Worker is responsible for providing personal care, domestic care, respite, and social support. This role requires working independently in SCS homes, clients' homes, and local community settings.

Our Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities

Our team is committed to providing high-quality, personalised support to meet your unique needs.

Personal Care:

  • Assist clients with daily personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Help clients with mobility and physical exercises.

Domestic Care:

  • Provide domestic assistance including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Maintain a safe and clean living environment for clients.

Respite Care:

  • Offer respite care to provide primary caregivers with a break.
  • Ensure clients are comfortable and well-cared for during respite periods.

Social Support:

  • Facilitate clients’ participation in social activities and community engagement.
  • Escort clients to appointments, social events and other outings.

Health and Well-being:

  • Monitor clients’ health and well-being, noting any changes or concerns.
  • Administer medication and provide health support under the guidance of healthcare professionals.

Skill Development:

  • Support clients in developing and maintaining skills and capacities that enhance their independence and quality of life.
  • Encourage clients to pursue interests and hobbies that are valued in the community.

Legal and Ethical Responsibilities:

  • Understand and uphold clients’ legal rights and staff responsibilities in accordance with human rights, equal opportunity and anti-discrimination laws.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.

Domestic Care:

  • Listen to and respond to clients’ needs, ensuring their privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
  • Promote clients’ rights and advocate on their behalf as needed.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with team members to ensure continuity of care and comprehensive service provision.
  • Attend scheduled team meetings and participate in training and professional development.

Health and Safety:

  • Implement health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for clients and staff.
  • Provide first aid and emergency support as needed.

Promotion of Organisational Values:

  • Represent and promote SCS’s aims and objectives to clients and the broader community.
  • Follow SCS’s service policies and participate in ongoing policy review and improvement.

Client-Centered Approach:

  • Focus on the individual needs and preferences of clients in all care activities.
  • Foster a supportive and empowering environment that respects clients’ autonomy and choices.
